How this site Got Started
We (Mark and Becky) have done a fair amount of traveling and have always enjoyed sharing pictures from our journeys with family and friends.
The concept of this site came from the fact that we were no longer consolidating our photos in albums so that we could share with others, so we came up with the idea of putting a few select photos on-line so others could enjoy them without inundating them with all of our pictures... thus the Recent Photos section came about
Our Site
This site has been created to share the travel experiences of Mark and Becky with family and friends.
The name of our site describes our goal of slow and deliberate travels, as well as a tribute to our California Desert Tortoise (UPS)
Travel Mascot
During the Covid-19 Pandemic we came upon an old yard ornament we had (you guessed it... a tortoise) that was looking very weathered. Becky sanded the tortoise, Mark painted a base coat and Becky added her finishing touches to bring personality to our new mascot - Gordon!
We now have a new travel companion to photograph at our favorite stops.
